In this blog post I will attempt to explain the
complexity of my thoughts and feelings that accompanied
this second JAM-Session Playing for an Audience
Why It Was An Extra Challenge
First of all, it had been a pretty exhausting day, although
I also did take some time to enjoy the sun Just like this Cat did and this Jackdaw,
I was already a little out of steam when I started, and still somewhat nervous about it.
Some of the Things
that Went Throught my Head
Also for the Previous JAM in De Boerderij I was pretty nervous, with so much going through my head, like for example how my
Jammed Mouthorgan would sound, if the slider wouldn't be to much
Jammed, if it would sound good enough, when it would be my turn to
play a Solo, if I could hear myself above the other Instruments,
if I didn't play to soft or to hard etc. etc. not even
really noticing how the audience reacted.
About My 'Support Group'
With the First JAM, I mainly had contact with only the people
that I invited myself and some of the people that I knew
that would be there in the audience.
A Little Less Nervous
While with this second JAM, I was still much less Chatty than
I usually am, This time I was a little less nervous, and also
was able to Chat a little more with some of the other
Musicians and Singers than with the Previous JAM.
Many Other Musicians
On the Play List
There where many other Musicians on the list to play,
and it was getting somewhat late already, before I
got to play,
May Day, May Day it's
more like a Solo Perfomane!
In the Previous JAM we had more of a group performance,
this time it was more like a Solo performance
accompanied by Piano, Percussion and Guitar.
Having Fun Playing the Blues
Suddenly making me a lot more nervous, not exactly knowing what
to play, feeling somewhat
like the Sand Yachting Experience I had some time ago with windspeeds 6-7 that I wrote about
on my Travel Blog. (or like a Deer in front of a cars headlights)
When asked if Blues would be an idea to play I suddenly
got a lot more confident because that's some of the things that
I can do, and that I also occasionally have done with my Music Group.
I do believe we all had fun playing, and I do believe that
it eventually went rather well as I wrote about on the
Making Music page.
The JAM-Session Team
During the playing as I also learned during practicing with our little music group
thought about also leaving room for other players and give room
for a piano solo as well, and slowly picking it up again, and than
working towards the end notes.
This time I did take time to notice how the audience reacted and I actually noticed
Applause from the Audience
This time I did take time to notice how the audience reacted and I actually noticed
that there was applause. It has been a pretty exciting special experience
to play with such highly experienced musicians, and obviously the
Percussionist, Pianist and Guitarist did deserve a lot of the credits.
Besides applause from the audience, as a performing musician I also got the privilege of a
free consumption. I would have liked to stay a little longer to Chat some
more with all the other Musicians, only I felt a little overwhelmed by all these

Many New Experiences
Besides applause from the audience, as a performing musician I also got the privilege of a
free consumption. I would have liked to stay a little longer to Chat some
more with all the other Musicians, only I felt a little overwhelmed by all these
new experiences and it was already pretty late for a Tuesday evening.
Pffffffff, what a strange way to unwind is
this Music Making ! ! !
Your Thoughts:
While I do like many types of Music,
I discovered that Playing Blues is one of the types of Music I try my hands on
when it comes to Making Music myself
