As I wrote about in a previous post about
Journaling & Songwriting, I wrote about how
because it is helpful with getting more Self-awareness. and that made me think about something I heard comedian Mike Meiers say, about what he calls
"Consious Incompetence" something that I personally translate as becoming Self-aware, or Consious about where your limitations are, and where you have your opportunities to grow.
In my case for example discovering that I seem to be somewhat limited in actually flawlessly finishing complete songs. Discovering that it helps when you study the different components of a song, to learn how to work-through the whole song.
An other thing is that you don't always even need to know a complete whole song.
For example when you don't know the exact lyrics of a song, but do know the melody,
you might be able to simply move forward anyway with scat-singing some of the parts
that you don't know to connect them with the parts you do know.
