Last wednesday for my Great Music Listening, I went to a perfomance from
Saskia Laroo and Warren Byrd, in het Kunstcafé in Huizen.
Some years ago I have seen them perform before.
Once durring a concert I also saw Saskia Laroo wearing a belt with
- as I recall - guitar effect electronics that she
used for here Trumpet. Making the Trumpet sound
extra mysterious with echo effects etc. etc. an interesting
way of Making Music
Making me think about a Miles Davis Quote
"Even the Sky Ain't the Limit"
Talking about limitless, Saskia didn't only play
the Trumpet, also played the Saxophone and did some parts Singing,
Scatting, and even a little part 'Free Style' Singing about Huizen!
Warren Byrd was also Singing and
playing the Piano like it's Effortless
Great Music!
BTW as I bought one of their CD's, Warren explained that the Name Byrd
is pronounced as Bird and under his autograph he wrote a few
Bird 'Tweets'
